Portland Footage...

On Thursday, the director of Fury, Garrett Benach, and I went out to collect some stock footage for another project we are working on.

We spent a portion of the day wandering around Portland trying to get a few shots of imagery that met our criteria. Our criteria included several relevant needs for the imagery to portray including a need to relate back to the documentary, emphasis on Portland as a city and imagery that was appealing.

The great thing about collecting video for Portland was that Portland is a great city for a pedestrian to get around pretty easily.

Here's one of the video results of Garrett's hard work.

Our upcoming project is an environmental documentary detailing development in the 21st century. We've been collecting snippets of footage over the last few months and are excited to be bringing people a closer look at what we are doing behind the scenes as well as our final products.

We'll post the final video up on this site soon!

Location Scouting...

This waterfall is at the end of one of many amazing trails in the Gorge, in between the Oregon/Washington border. It's also one possible shooting location for our upcoming short film Magic.

For us at Ellipsis Studios, the right location is very important. Not only are we looking for locations which can be utilized for their beauty and convenience but we're also taking into consideration every aspect including how to light the chosen location and background noise for the sound department.

We are very lucky though to be in such a great state where there is an abundance of awesome locations to choose from.
